A speaker before an audience comprised of government, airline, airport, tourism and banking leaders at the 2nd Annual Jamaica International Civil Aviation Day celebration and seminar, Brakkam President and CEO Miguel Southwell describes airport privatization as, “…one of several alternatives to finance the design and construction of a public infrastructure”. On the pros and cons of airport privatization, Southwell stated that, “…as with any financing consideration, your key consideration should be your overall cost of capital – should the airport or government possess the financial capacity to borrow from amongst alternative sources”. The annual event commemorates Jamaica’s achievements in civil aviation and recognizes the contribution of the country’s aviation champions.
